Advanced Academics Program at Dranseville Elementary School
Level IV Referral Deadline: January 9, 2020
Parents of students in grades 2-7 may refer for full-time Level IV placement.
AA Program Overview: Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Advanced Academic Programs provide challenging learning experiences that are designed to meet the unique learning profile of a broad range of advanced learners. Through a continuum of opportunities, students engage in complex subject matter, preparing them for more challenging and rigorous classes as they advance in grade level. Children identified for FCPS advanced academic services exhibit exceptional performance capability in academic, intellectual, and creative endeavors. In order to meet their needs and develop to their potential, these learners require a differentiated curriculum. AA Program Parent Information Meeting There will be a parent information session regarding Fairfax County's programs for Advanced Academics held on October 24th from 6:00-7:30 PM. The focus will be for parents with current 2nd grade students; however all parents are welcome to attend. Information will be provided about levels of service offered at Dranesville, as well as information about the screening processes for part-time, school-based services, as well as Level IV services. The meeting is open to all K-6 parents.
