Congratulations to Mrs. Rena Rose on being recognized as the February 2022 Region 1 FCPS CARES Recipient of the Month by the FCPS Department of Human Resources.

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story below, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees.

Below is the write-up submitted by a Dranesville Elementary School colleague of Mrs. Rose.

Mrs. Rose is an inspiration to her students and to her school community. She takes the time to cultivate joy in learning and creates lasting memories with and for her students. She understands that relationships are at the core of learning partnerships between students, families, and teachers. For example, in addition to engaging students' voices in setting up a warm and welcoming classroom, she coordinated a weekend family gathering at the Reston Ice Skating rink, sharing a joyful experience as a community. Most recently, Mrs. Rose took the time to enter a contest for a message from one of her students' favorite authors, Peter Reynolds. There is so much that teachers feel they must do in a given day, it is amazing that Mrs. Rose prioritizes relationships and joy. Her students are learning academics and so much more in her care. Thank you, Mrs. Rose! #DranesvilleCARES
