Outcomes

  • By Spring 2025, students in grades 3-6 in the following  subgroups will increase the unadjusted pass rate, by 10% from Spring 2024 to Spring 2025 as measured by the Virginia Standards of Learning assessments.

    Hispanic - 46% to 56%
    Students with Disabilities - 50% to 60%
    Multilingual Learners - 34% to 44%
    Black - 69% to 79%
    Asian - 60% to 70%

  • By Spring of 2025 students in K-3 will meet or exceed the Spring Reading screener benchmark, increasing from 57% (Spring 2024) to 80% (Spring 2025) as measured by VAALS.
  • By Spring 2025, students in 3-6 will score pass/advanced (unadjusted), increasing from 67% (Spring 2024) to 80% (Spring 2025) as measured by the Virginia Standards of Learning assessments.                         

Strategies

  • Improve integrity of implementation of new core curriculum, English Language Development program, and/or intervention programs by using FCPS-adopted resources with fidelity.
  • Increase intentional use of multisensory, visual, verbal, written and/or interactive scaffolds and supports in whole group settings.
  • Increase opportunities for students to develop oral language through pair and small group structures that promote engagement.

Elementary School Math

Outcomes

  • By Spring 2025, students in grades 3-6 in the following  subgroups will increase the unadjusted pass rate, by 10% from Spring 2024 to Spring 2025 as measured by the Virginia Standards of Learning assessments.

    Students with Disabilities - 48% to 58%
    Multilingual Learners - 39% to 49%
    Black - 77% to 87%

  • By Spring of 2025 students in K-2 will meet or exceed the Spring Math screener benchmark, increasing from 55% (Spring 2024) to 80% (Spring 2025) as measured by EMAS/iReady.
  • By Spring 2025, students in 3-6 will score pass/advanced (unadjusted), increasing from 67% (Spring 2024) to 80% (Spring 2025) as measured by the Virginia Standards of Learning assessments.                        

Strategies

  • Improve teachers’ implementation of Framework for Engaging & Student-Centered Mathematics Instruction.
  • Increase teacher's implementation of strategies and conversation structures that increase academic talk between students related to Shift 4: from show and tell to share and compare.                      

Chronic Absenteeism

Outcomes

  • By Spring 2025, Dranesville will reduce the Chronic Absenteeism percentage from 6.9% (Spring 2024) to 5% (Spring 2025) as measured by the attendance dashboard.                             

Strategies

  • MTSS Schoolwide and Site Intervention teams analyze attendance along with behavior and wellness data bi-monthly to identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
  • Schools will implement practices to recognize good and improved attendance to reinforce attendance and strengthen student and family engagement.
  • Teachers will promote student engagement and create a welcoming classroom environment by modeling social and emotional competencies in their interactions with students.
